How can this course help me?
On completion of this programme, you will have the necessary basic knowledge and skills for working safely in manufacturing workshops, with regards to health and safety practices, introduction to welding, use of power and hand tools.
You will be able to apply and progress to higher levels of learning such as those listed below
- New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 3) Ref: 2715
- Vocational Pathway - Manufacturing and Technology (Level 3)
You will also gain your NCEA Level 2
How long is the course?
This course runs for 25 weeks.
When? Where?
Intakes – from early February onwards.
Courses will run from 9am – 3 pm at our Thames Training site.
Entry requirements
- You must be 16-19 years old.
- You will be required to supply a birth certificate as proof of identity.
I don't have transport
We have a FREE pick up and drop off service in the Thames, Ngatea, Paeroa and Waihi regions
Need a little extra help?
We have on-site literacy an numeracy tutor that will assist you.
