This programme is designed to develop people to the level where they have the knowledge and skills under limited supervision to safely use and maintain a range of farm resources.

Monday to Friday open from 8.30am - 3.00pm. Course starts at 8.30am at our Thames Training Site.
This programme provides one day in the classroom and four days practical

This qualification may assist you to obtain entry-level positions in a range of agriculture related industries
This qualification will provide a pathway into a range of higher level qualifications. This may include further study at Level 3 and Level 4 with options in Dairy, Arable and Livestock Farming

What do I need to bring to class?
Just yourself and your lunch!
We have a shared fridge in our kitchenette with hot refreshments for break times. Our buildings are kept nice and warm in the winter.
We have modern computer suites, and we will teach you from whatever computer level you are on. All computers, workbooks and relevant course material is supplied.
Entry requirements
If you are 16 years plus you can apply.
Studylink student allowance may be applicable
I don't have transport
We have a FREE pick up and drop off service in the Thames, Ngatea, Paeroa and Waihi areas.
Need a little extra help?
We have on-site literacy an numeracy tutor that will assist you.

Farming Systems
This programme is designed to provide the pastoral farming sector with graduates that have the knowledge and skills to assist, under limited supervision, with the management of all aspects of livestock production in either a dairy, sheep or beef farming pastoral context.
